The symposium ‘IEA activities on energy in buildings and communities’ will take place on 11th of June 2019 in Brussels. During this event the activities of the International Energy Agency (IEA) will be presented and focus will be on the energy reduction in the built environment and the reduction of CO2- emissions. The symposium will explain the context and approach of the IEA from different perspectives. Special attention will be paid to the Belgian and Dutch context. The results of a diverse selection of annexes (projects) will be presented, including energy resources on community and building level, the indoor environment and the role of users. The day will be closed with an interactive discussion and drinks.

The IEA Technical Collaboration Programme ‘Energy in Buildings and Communities Programme’ took the initiative to organise the symposium whereby the program and the practical organisation is handled by the Belgian and Dutch representatives. The target audience includes Belgian and Dutch professionals as well as representatives from international organizations based in Brussels. The Dutch Flemish Building Physics Association (NVBV) and the BBRI (Belgian Building Research Institute) are actively involved in the organisation of the symposium.
