IEA Solar Heating and Cooling Programme
The International Energy Agency was formed in 1974 within the framework of the
Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) to implement a program of
international energy cooperation among its member countries, including collaborative
research, development and demonstration projects in new energy technologies. The 20
members of the IEA Solar Heating and Cooling Agreement have established a total of 20 R
& D projects (known as Tasks) to advance solar technologies for buildings. The overall
program is managed by an Executive Committee while the individual Tasks are led by
Operating Agents.
