Description
of Case Stories: Task 23, Optimization of Solar Energy Use
in Large Buildings
This
technical report documents 21 buildings designed using the
"whole building approach."Both the processes used in the design
of the buildings and the resulting building performance were
evaluated. The solar buildings documented include offices,
schools, and conference and research centers. The buildings
use a number of low energy and solar techniques, including
daylighting, passive and active solar systems, and photovoltaics. The
knowledge gained through this activity will serve as a basis
for other Task work.
