THE IEA SHC PROGRAMME SOFTWARE

The following page lists the software generated during the course of the IEA SHC Programme. Many of the Research Tasks have sought to design software as an important part of their resulting output, resulting in software programs utilised throughout the energy sector in a diverse range of tasks.

»TASK 11: PASSIVE AND HYBRID SOLAR COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS

> ISOLDE Software

»TASK 12: BUILDING ENERGY ANALYSIS TOOLS

> ADELINE Software

ADELINE is supported by two organisations:

  • Fraunhofer Institut fuer Bauphysik (IBP) in Germany and
  • Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBL) in the USA.

»TASK 21: DAYLIGHT IN BUILDINGS

> Leso-DIAL (Daylighting Design Software)

The aim of this user-friendly software is to give architects relevant information regarding the use of daylight at the very first stage of the desing process. In this version (1.1), you can design up to 30 openings (6 for each facade and 6 in the roof). Leso-DIAL allows you to calculate daylight factor values on the work plane, estimate daylighting autonomy, and optimize the daylighting performance.

The use of this tool requires no learning time or specific knowledge. Both photometry and geometry can be described through graphic and/or linguistic input. A Lexicon is accessible at any stage of the design with about 100 terms. As navigation and calculation are quick and easy, the software is very suitable for testing various configurations.

Laboratoire d'Energie Solaire et de Physique du Batiment
