Overview
As the first of the meteorological support projects, Task 4 focused on producing
two practical aids for solar system designers. The need was identified for a
low-cost, portable instrumentation capable of measuring solar radiation and
other meteorological data at potential and actual sites of solar system
installation. Specifications for such a device were compiled and then validated
using instruments built by several participating countries.
The second product was a handbook on meteorological measurements and data
handling for solar energy applications which was intended to familiarize solar
scientists with solar radiation data requirements and measurement techniques and
enhance the meteorologist's understanding of the needs of the solar community. |
