New EC Directive

EC Directive on energy need in buildings agreed on in 2003.

Has concequences for 13 building types.

Demands will be split in three :

1. Demands for Calculation method for total energy need in a building.
2. Energy certificate.
3. Inspection routines for cooling and heating systems.
   

1. Demands for Calculation method for total energy need in a building

Demands are supposed to be profitablefor the individual and could include :

• Demands on U-value for windows reduced to 1.4.
• Demands on tighter constructions (wind barriers etc).
• Heat recovery on ventilation systems.
• Solar control.
• Total energy need not to be higher than :
  Detached houses 150 kWh/m2 per year.
  Flats 130 kWh/m2 per year.

2. Energy certificate

Certificate shall be presented when :

• New contruction is completed.
• At sale.
• At rental.

Information shall include :

• Calculated total energy need (Classification A – G).
• Actual tolat energy need – in existing buildings.
• Energy sources, environmental concequences (CO2 emissions),
  proposal for energy saving measures.

The certificates shall be issued by an independent expert, at least every ten years.
