2nd PhD Autumn Workshop on Net Zero Energy Buildings: Solutions Sets, Case Studies

Transfer by bus from Ajaccio: Monday, September 24 (around 7pm) - Sunday, September 30 (around 10am). Accommodations at the institute or in the village (15min walk)

Objectives:

The purpose of this five-days event is for current PhD students and advanced masters students (primarily from IEA SHC Task 40 / ECBCS Annex 52 and SHC Task 41) to gain a thorough understanding on NZEBs. The week will be divided into two main activities. On the 2,5 first days, the purpose will be to study the 44 NZEBs included in the database of STC (Task 40) in order to identify and then to model the architectural, the energy efficiency and energy generation innovative solutions sets of those buildings.

During the 2,5 last days, a competition between students will be held to design a NZEB using the solution sets identified.

Several lectures will be given to the students during the week to help them with the work to accomplish. The themes of these lectures will be: optimization (GenOpt), modeling daylighting, modeling natural ventilation, design process, Post-Occupancy Evaluation, role of the users.
